The annual Weekend on the Water is coming back to Concord! Organized by the Rotary Club of Concord in partnership with Concord Parks and Recreation, Black Ice Pond Hockey Association and Concord Crew, this two day event will have something for everyone. Celebrate Concord’s stretch of the Merrimack River. Participate in the exciting dragon boat races. Watch beautiful rowing shells speed down the river as several schools compete in the Concord Crew regatta. Take a tour of the city in one of Boston’s Super Tour Duck Boats. Enjoy a craft brew at the Capitol Cup Brewfest. Listen to local musicians. Cheer on your duck in the rubber duck race!
There is no admission fee for the event (although several activities charge a fee) so you can come and enjoy the festivities for as long as you want!
This is your chance to get involved with the only Dragon Boat races in New Hampshire. A Dragon Boat team consists of 22 people—20 paddlers, a drummer and a helmsman. Races will be held on Saturday from 9 am to 5pm. Spend a fun day on the water. Our event is more fun than competition, but check out this cool video: https://www.youtube.com/user/22DragonsMt

A beer garden will also be open starting at 11 am. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $15 (including a commemorative glass) at www.blackicepondhockey.com. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $20.
The Super Tours Duck Boat is back! The Super Tours Duck Boat will run on Saturday and Sunday. Your tour will be narrated by a Concord celebrity! Tours are on land only. Seats can be reserved for $5 each at www.tourticketsolutions.com/buywowtickets.html. Hurry, though, because seating sells out quickly!
This year’s duck race will be bigger than ever! Last year, nearly 6,000 ducks sped down the river toward the finish line. The first ten ducks to enter the duck trap will win cash prizes and the first three winning ducks will win a trophy, too! The ducks will be released at 1:00 on Sunday. Ducks cost $5 each or buy a Quack Pack of 5 ducks for $20. You can buy ducks here or on Saturday and Sunday at the Rotary trailer and other tents until sold out. Learn how your non-profit or youth group can raise money through the duck race here. Don’t miss out on this hilarious event!
New this year, WOW is partnering with the Friendly Kitchen Road Race. The 8th Annual Friendly Kitchen 5K Race and 2.5K Fitness Walk will be held on Sunday at 8:30 am on the campus of NHTI. A Children’s Run will be at 9:15. The race will take runners and walkers along the Seekamp Trail. For information and pre-registration, contact Perry Seagroves at firstname.lastname@example.org.
